NewsReel 29/1/15 - Abia: Imo group dissociates self from endorsing PPA candidate

[ Masterweb Reports ] - Contrary to the story published in The Sun edition of January 27, 2015, which was that Imo State natives resident in Abia have endorsed the candidature of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) governorship candidate, Chief Chikwe Udensi, Concerned Imo Citizens In Abia (CICIA) has debunked the story as the purported efforts of desperate politicians in Abia State to cause disaffection between the Imo citizens in Abia State and their host state.

Narrating his story on behalf of the CICIA, Ichie Ike Alakwe, a resident of Number 3 Ideato Street, Aba, who is the chairman of the group, said that Imo people in Abia State are not here for sectional politics as there would be no way all Imo State people resident in Abia State would be in the PPA or endorse Udensi for whatever reason.

“If they are telling us that Imo State people who are party members of the PPA have endorsed Udensi owing to their party inclination, that would be understandable. But regrettably, we are all not in one political party and anybody or group saying that we have endorsed a particular candidate was being thoughtless and mischievous.”

Being philosophical, Alakwe said that in Alison Miller's, “Healing the Unimaginable: Treating Ritual Abuse and Mind Control” politicians should understand that “Punishments include such things as flashbacks, flooding of unbearable emotions, painful body memories, flooding of memories in which the survivor perpetrated against others, self-harm, and suicide attempts.”

He therefore called on all political parties in Abia State to dissociate Imo people in the state from politics of animosity. “I debunk that story that Imo natives resident in Abia have endorsed the PPA governorship candidate,” Ichie Alakwe fumed.
