BreakingNews 6/3/15 - Running mate to the APC Governorship Candidate in Abia State Decamps to PDP

[ Masterweb Reports ] - The Abia State deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Fred Eke Idika has decamped to the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP). Declaring for the PDP with his supporters during the PDP women wing presidential rally in Umuahia, the APC deputy governorship candidate said that the PDP remains the party to beat, adding that there is no need for change when things are working well.



According to him, there is no need changing the PDP-led government of President Goodluck Jonathan which he said has performed well as the transformation agenda of the president is on course.



He stated that he decided to leave his former party, the APC to join the ruling Peoples Democratic Party because of the many accomplishments of President Jonathan and the Chief T.A.Orji’s government in Abia State.



He assured the wife of the President and the leadership of the PDP of his unflinching support and that of his supporters.



In her speech, the wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan said that the President would implement 45 percent affirmative action for women if reelected and used the forum to highlight other achievements of the President which include establishment of 127 almajeri schools among others.
 


She reminded Nigerian women of the need to vote massively for the President in view of all that he has done for women and advised them to collect their permanent voters cards (PVC) to enable them vote.



Dame Jonathan stated that the President as an in-law to the people of the South-East has done a lot for them and Nigeria as a whole to warrant his reelection and pleaded with the people to vote massively for him and other candidates of the party.
 


Governor Orji in his own stated that there is no alternative to the PDP in Abia state, maintaining that the APC in Abia is dead as proved by the defection to PDP of the deputy governorship candidate of the party.



The Governor who commended President Jonathan for assisting his government fight insecurity especially kidnapping promised Nigerians that the President will win the war against insurgency in the North-East.



Apart from describing the President as a performing President, Governors
Orji called on Nigerians to cast their votes for President Jonathan,
noting that with his reelection the President would continue with his
transformation programmes for Nigerians.



Earlier, wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Mercy Orji, said that Abia women would vote 100 per cent for President Jonathan as they did in 2011.


The rally was attended by eminent personalities within and outside the
state.
