BreakingNews 3/10/16 - Police arrests suspected kidnappers, armed robbers in Kaduna

[ Masterweb Reports: Maryam Ahmadu-Suka reports ] - The Kaduna state police command's  Intelligence Bureau has arrested eight suspects involved in kidnapping and armed robbery in Kaduna state. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Usaman‎ in a statement said the suspects were involved in kidnapping Mrs. Fatima Inusa, wife to Dr. Inusa Umar of the Faculty of Education ABU Zaria at their residence in Zaria on 19th September, 2016.
 
Also arrested were ‎ the killers of Timothy Ayuba, a personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). 
 
He said, "On the 19th of September 2016 One Mrs Fatima Inusa, wife to Dr. Inusa Umar of the Faculty of Education ABU Zaria, was kidnapped by unknown gun men at their residence in Zaria. Following a massive manhunt and deployment of technical intelligence resources, Operatives of the State Intelligence Bureau led by the O/C SIIB arrested three suspects involved in the crime including Mohammed Tukur, Suleiman Auta and Shuaibu Umar Rabiu all of Hayin Liman village behind ABU Main Campus, Zaria. 
 
"The suspects confessed to have committed the crime and investigation is on to arrest the rest of the accomplices.
 
"Similarly, on the 8th of September, 2016 at about 2pm armed men attacked and killed one Timothy Ayuba, a personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, who was on his way from Bakin Kasuwa village to Sabon Gayan in Chukun Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The armed men made away with the victim’s motorcycle which was later recovered from the suspects, Mustapha Idris, Shamsudeen Ahmadu, Ali Garba. 
 
"The suspects were arrested with two Bajaj motorcycles which they confessed to have robbed from one Idi Bello and one other person not known yet. Investigation is in progress to arrest other members of the syndicate," the statement said.
 
He added, "On the 16th of September, 2016 at about 1pm one Favour Friday and Sunday Joseph were apprehended at the Federal Prison, Kaduna with three live ammunitions with intent to penetrate in to the prison yard and deliver same to an inmate by name Zachariah Tanimu alias Kolo who is awaiting trial in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms. The two suspects were charged to court accordingly."
