MasterwebNews 26/12/16: Northern Patriots lauds Buhari over Boko Haram

[ Masterweb Reports: Abbas Jimoh reports ] - The Northern Patriots (NP), a political pressure group has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the leadership and enabling environment leading to the victory by the Military in putting an end to the reign of Boko Haram insurgents in Sambisa forest.
Reacting to the major feat by the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole in clearing the remnants of Boko Haram insurgents at 'Camp Zero' in the heart of Sambas forest, the Director-General of NP Mallam Ismail Sani said in a statement yesterday in Abuja that President Buhari has by this development successfully delivered one of his campaign promises of defeating Boko Haram.
"Before now, we were bedeviled with insurgency in the north east. We are happy the situation has been finally contained by our gallant soldiers. There is however the urgent need to extend similar commitment in ending the incessant clashes between farmers and herdsmen, banditry, militancy and kidnappings," Sani said.
The group also urged an improved community policing to stop crime before they occur, adding that it is only when the community and the police work together that the people can trust and volunteer information and assistance to help prevent crime, and also to arrest criminals, easily.
While reiterating the call for constitutional responsibility for traditional rulers, due to their significant role in maintaining law and order in their domains, the group urged Nigerians to eschew violence and love one another irrespective of religious, tribal or political differences.
