BreakingNews 13/2/17: Donald Trump Speaks With Buhari, To Later Call Zuma of South Africa

[ Masterweb Reports ] - The President of  United States, Donald Trump at 9:45 am in Washington, D.C., USA (2:45 pm in London) called President Muhammdu Buhari of Nigeria to wish him Happy Africa Day. Buhari reportedly spoke to Trump from a London residence in the call that lasted five minutes.  Trump is scheduled to later call Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa to also wish him the same (Happy Africa Day).  The two presidents head Africa’s largest economies; Nigeria being first and South Africa second.
 
Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to  President Buhari on Media and Publicity in a press statement said: "President Muhammadu Buhari this afternoon from London spoke to President Donald Trump on telephone at the request of the American President. The conversation was cordial and President Buhari congratulated Trump on his election as President of the United States, and on his cabinet.
 
"The two leaders discussed ways to improve cooperation in the fight against terrorism through provision of necessary equipment.
 
"President Trump encouraged President Buhari to keep up the good work he is doing, and also commended him for the efforts made in rescuing 24 of the Chibok Girls and the strides being taken by the Nigerian military.
 
"President Trump assured the Nigerian President of US readiness to cut a new deal in helping Nigeria in terms of military weapons to combat terrorism. President Trump also invited President Buhari to Washington at a mutually convenient date."

Trump officially took office as U.S. President on January 20 after winning the November 8,  2016 presidential poll.
