BreakingNews 26/2/2014 - Igbere TV Retracts Story, Exonerates Abia Governor's Son On The Death of John Ndubuka

[ Masterweb Reports  ] –  Igbere Televsion (IGTV) popularly known as Igbere TV on its Facebook page soon after the death of John Ndubuka on Saturday, February 15 wrote that the deceased was shot dead on orders of Abia governor’s son, Engr. Chinedum Orji. Yesterday they retracted the statement, exonerating the governor’s son in the killing. Below is the statement they posted on their Facebook page on the retraction:

“On the 15th of February 2014, we carried a story on the death of one Mr. John Ndubuka a cousin of Governor T.A Orji, which was misleading.

“In the said story which was posted by one of us who has been dropped from the crew, we claimed that John was killed on the orders of Engr Chinedum Orji based on a minor quarrel between them.

“After thorough investigations, we discovered that what was posted was concocted by this said person for personal gains. We as a group want to apologize to our fans, Abians and the affected family especially Engr Orji for this media rascality exhibited by one of us.

“We are retracting our earlier posts on this issue and state that Engr Orji never ordered for the killing of his cousin. We are aware that the police have arrested security men alleged to be involved. As a respected medium we are awaiting the outcome of their investigations.

“We hereby commiserate with the family of John especially the wife who is pregnant and the kid.

“Based on what has happened some of us have decided to break away so as to genuinely prove that Igbere people are not enemies of Abia State as being propagated through negative and damaging stories via The Igbere TV that we were part of.

“We will henceforth use Igbere TV Facebook and our twitter handle to promote unity peace and development in Abia and not to blackmail people, Government or institutions. We are much aware that this singular and sincere move, will attract criticisms from our former colleagues, we will not be distracted.

They will tell people that the new social media Igbere TV platform is fake, however, we are not perturbed. Please join us as commiserate with Late John Ndubuka’s family this Thursday. Our style is fresh and unique.”
