NewsReel 4/7/14 - Ogidi Invites You To Their Annual Convention In Dallas Texas, USA - July 4-6, 2014

[ Masterweb Reports: Press Release For Immediate Release ] -On the weekend of July 4, 2014, America will be celebrating her 238 years of independence from Great Britain. Ogidi which is the headquarters of Idemili North Local Government in Anambra State Nigeria will also be hosting their annual convention to benefit High/Secondary schools in Ogidi. That convention is slated to take place from July 4, 2014 to July 6, 2014 in Dallas Texas. The name Ogidi  means "Pillar" and is the birth and burial place of one of the most prolific writers and a literary genius of our time. His name is Chinua Achebe who was born on Sunday, November 16, 1930 as Albert Chinualumogu Achebe. From every corner of the globe, this incredible literary genius has touched so many with his amazing work by virtue of his incredible work as documented in the likes of Things Fall Apart, No Longer At Ease, Arrow of God, A Man Of The People and Anthills Of The Savannah. He was able to touch so many by virtue of the incredible gateway that education accorded him.

Today the proud indigenes of Ogidi, the home of Chinualumogu Achebe are organizing an annual convention in the city of Dallas Texas from July 4 to July 6, 2014 to benefit High/Secondary school education. Their efforts in embarking on this noble initiative is to restore the pillar that has come to define the Ogidi community. The literary icon Chinua Achebe might have passed away on March 21, 2013 at the age of 82 years of age but he left a legacy of knowledge and education. That legacy did not die with him. They actually live on and as a community we have a collective moral responsibility to sustain it. That legacy and that spirit is what the organizers of this year's convention are pursuing. On that note, all are invited to Dallas Texas beginning July 4, 2014 through July 6, 2014 to be part of the team that is sustaining the golden goal, the lofty standard and the glorious height that Chinua Achebe had set. Be there, be counted and be part of the fireworks that will illuminate the Ogidi community even more. The youth has rightfully been referred to as "Greater Tomorrow".  The youth, the Ogidi community and mankind will be the beneficiary of this year's event. The proceeds of this year's annual convention will be dedicated to the youth and many more minds will be nourished with opportunity and knowledge with the hopes that they will blossom to be like Chinua Achebe, a great son of the soil.

We conclude with an obvious fact. As America is celebrating her independence on the 4th of July 2014, the fact still remains that next in importance to freedom and justice is education, without which neither freedom nor justice can be permanently sustained. America exemplifies this fact. This is why a support for Ogidi's 13th annual convention in Dallas Texas is a support for our youth, our future and our soul. All are cordially invited and are encouraged to invest in the community. After all in the words of the Negro College Fund, "A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste".
