[ Masterweb Reports: Victor Sorokwu reports ] - The Police in Delta State saved the Chevron Escravos Flow Station of what could have resulted in a devastation when it detonated a 2kg seismic dynamite. According to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Alhaji Mustafa, the bombing plot was revealed through credible information.

He said some hoodlums had planted objects suspected to be improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Chevron Escravos Flow Station.

"The Command’s IED experts were deployed to the scene and uncovered a 2kg seismic dynamite, electric detonator, 13 meters wire connected to the base of oil pumping pipe.

"They discovered that the objects were IEDs planted at the base of the flow pump ostensibly designed to cause serious collateral damage as the petroleum product in the pipe could have caused serious conflagration on the facilities", CP Mustafa stated, adding that investigation into the case was on.

[ Masterweb Reports: Press Release For Immediate Release ] - The leadership of APC Youths Renaissance has received the news of President Buhari's formal declaration of intention to seek re-election in next year's general election with great joy and excitement.

We have long ago endorsed him as our presidential candidate, but for accepting our clarions call as well as that of many Nigerians at this defining moment of our national history is truly worth celebrating.

This is a president who has repositioned the battered image of Nigeria within the shortest time frame he has being in the office. Our country is no longer a pharia state as investors confidence in Nigeria is now unprecedented.

While we solicit the understanding of statesmen in this noble task of reelecting President Buhari, we however urge all supporters of our great party to embark on grassroot sensitisation campaigns by taking the message of Mr. President as well as the manifestoes of our great party to the Nigerian people.

With President Buhari's acceptance to consolidate on the democratic gains or dividends established in the last three years, Nigeria has indeed began its journey to real greatness.

Mr. Collins Edwin

South-South leaders urge Buhari to throw his hat in the ring

By Ebireri Henry Ovie

March 24, 2018: South-South leaders have expressed satisfaction with the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari. They also urged Buhari to throw his hat in the ring. At a meeting to appraise political actors in Nigeria, the leaders praised Buhari for investing in roads, bridges, other infrastructure and security.

They also commended President Buhari for promoting sustainable growth and employability, strengthening the capacity and innovation of micro, small and medium enterprises and enhancing food security and sustainable agriculture.

Speaking to the media after the meeting in Uyo, the Chairman, South-South Front (SSF), Chief John Harry said the leaders described names floated so far in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and others as men with no electoral values.

The leaders were also appreciative of Oyegun’s role in the development of Nigeria’s democracy.

"Chief John Odigie-Oyegun is a genius in the area of leadership" they said.

The leaders who ruled out plans to support the opposition parties in 2019 praised Oyegun for enhancing political discourse, maintaining a good working relationship with President Buhari, strengthening the democracy within the party, eliminating practices that suffocate the development of democracy in Nigeria, reconciling aggrieved members of the party and winning new electorate in order for APC to remain an important political force in the country.

"Oyegun’s grip on internal party matters is unique" the leaders said.

They regarded the moves of those against tenure elongation as a threat.

"The performance of the Oyegun –led NWC shows great hope for expanded democracy, reforms and coherent programmes. The tenure elongation is important for the party right now given the 2019 electoral challenges. Odigie-Oyegun has the right experience in the nitty-gritty mechanics of managing a political party during and after elections"

Oyegun, a quiet leader with a unique affinity for building strong relationships, according to the leaders was instrumental in negotiating a peace agreement between the Presidency and the National Assembly.

"The friction between the executive and legislature has forced the party to rethink its role and to lay ground for healthy executive-legislature relationship.

They commended the ruling party for fulfilling key functions such as political recruitment, interest articulation and participation.

"The purpose of APC at the time of formation was not only to serve as electoral vehicle for major political figures or push PDP out but to guarantee good governance, grow the economy and sanitize the system"

"APC is not a one person show. It represents citizens’ interests. The party is remarkable for internal unity, consensual decision making and strong clientelistic elements especially at the local level. PDP still suffers from factional divisions, problematic shallowness and lack of meaningful engagement with ordinary citizens. The party has lost its direction" the leaders said.

They also hit back at Chief Perekeme Kpodo, describing his criticism directed towards Oyegun as sickening and unacceptable.

"We clearly disagree with Kpodo. His views on APC point to a repeated failure by the mediocre politician to appreciate the exceptional leadership of the national chairman and the attempt to position the party ahead of 2019".

"Oyegun's recent actions "mark a milestone for APC, for peace and for Nigeria".

They urged former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on Lagos APC crisis and not waste his energy on other chapters and how to wreck havoc on the recent tenure elongation granted the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led APC National Working Committee.

"The disunity in Lagos APC will cost the party the next election".

[ Masterweb Reports: Victor Destiny reports ] - I refuse to be quiet when men of God use our trust on them to deceive us and rob us of our hard earned money, then turn back to say we were never forced. I made an allegation recently of how Pastor Danarry Leke of Living Faith Church Bida polytechnic branch introduces us to MMM, saying it was God's revelation to him of financial empowerment. We fell for it blindly, partially out of ignorance and over trust on mere mortal, I am glad that the truth is out and the Church saying it was only the wife Helen Danarry Leke that participated in the Ponzi MMM scheme. That was a lame excuse.

Where did Pastor Danarry Leke got money from to build those six flat apartment in Bida? Was it a gift from the Church members to him? Are full-time Pastor allowed to participate in any business? Or the apartments belong to his wife? The Church should be firm and stand by the truth, let us not deceive the congregation or hide anything from them, it will do our Church no good.

Pastors in Nigeria have taken advantage of their church members using the Bible to ‘rob’ them and also break happy homes. Nigerians who have been ‘robbed’ by these criminal pastors should be bold and speak up because these fake pastors need to be shamed for their dubious means of collecting huge sums of money from Nigerians. I went through a lot in life all because pastor Danarry Leke made me believe MMM was a divine financial blessing for the poor. I know several Nigerians have also experienced such problems in the cruel hands of such ‘men of God, let's be bold to speak up now before it's too late.

The state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uche Eze, who briefed newsmen after the meeting of the council, explained that part of the approval, aimed at improving the standard of education and creating a learning environment that is conducive in the state was the procurement of plastic chairs and desks, white boards and sporting equipment.

Also, Prof. Eze said that the council in keeping with the four-point agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration on quality education and workers’ welfare, approved N271 million as bailout fund to the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) to enable the institution take care of seven months monetization arrears owed its workers.
