*’Nigerian Army Watches’ As Yar’Adua ‘Aso Rocking’ Back

By Masterweb News Desk

Nothing really changes the leadership of Nigeria except doubtful election and military coup. This is not to say that such military intervention changes anything in the country. It is nothing other than opportunism in a bid to maintain the status quo or loot the treasury. Acting leadership is leadership as it implies handover of duties to the deputy by the incumbent. Constitutional leadership change in Nigeria is a day dream for those expecting such to happen in the Yar’Adua impasse.

Nigerian army watches as the nation’s corrupt and feudal power brokers scheme and plot. The military and civil game boards are in harmony of purpose, at times in joint conspiracy, other times divergently embracing maintenance of the status quo and/or treasury loot. The bitter truth in Nigeria is that political incumbents never hand over to their deputies. This is the case on both state and federal government levels. ( Continues below….. )

Seal of The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Photo Above: Seal of The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is the official symbol of the Nigerian President, first used in 1979 by President Shehu Shagari.

Nigeria being the country we know today, nobody should expect Yar’Adua to hand over to his deputy, Goodluck Jonathan. Yar’Adua is expected to hang on as president until 2011 elections. In the event of Yar’Adua’s untimely death before then, Nigeria would be in turmoil as forces deploy to maintain the status quo through unconstitutional means. Such means may include: stringent hand-tying agreement with Jonathan or outrightly a military coup.

An authoritative source in the Nigerian Presidency speaking on Thursday to reporters, said Yar’Adua was expected to be discharged from the hospital very soon and would return to Nigeria to resume duties.

“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock", they always say and this time will not be different. Nigerians should always refer to the country’s history when in doubt of the turn of events in the country. Some elements in the army and feudal power brokers ‘are watching’, unless they are successfully checked, Nigeria will never see progress.

This article is not an invitation to the Nigerian army to intervene. Military coups are unconstitutional and must be rejected by Nigerians.

Chief Judge of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Justice Daniel Abutu on Wednesday ruled that vice-president Goodluck Jonathan “cannot become the acting president but only carry out the functions of the president in his absence.” The ruling in the case filed by Christopher Onwuekwe, a lawyer by profession, allowed Jonathan to take full executive powers pending Yar’Adua’s return, denying him status as acting president on the premise that Yar’Adua had not written the National Assembly on his absence.

Justice Abutu was forced to step down from hearing a similar suit filed by Attorney Femi Falana. Falana petitioned the federal court on Thursday to declare Goodluck Jonathan acting president until Yar’Adua returned to the country from treatment. Falana’s lawsuit was filed in December last year, against Onwuekwe’s filed six days before its ruling. Both cases sought determination of the propriety of Yar’Adua’s refusal to transfer power to his deputy before his medical trip.

Falana requested the stepping down of Abutu, arguing that his impaired ruling on Wednesday on a similar suit to his, delved into issues raised in his own case. He argued that such a situation meant the judge had already taken position which would affect his ruling, if he were to go ahead with his case.

Sincerely, all these are unconstitutional. just mere selfish act of our leaders. Yar adua, Goodluck, chief judge, senators, reps and others politicians were only deceiving themselves, not over 150millions Nigerian, I strongly belief that God almighty will come to our aids Insha Allahu.

Well, I will say that God has reasons for this present development or rather crises in Nigeria. We should
remember that the supreme being is watching all our activities better for us to turn a positive attitude toward
ourselves and let go the 'me, me and me only' syndrome. We are people like the Haitians suffering from God's
actions presently ours maybe worse if we don't change. I'll like to strongly inform the Nigerian elites and the
politicians alike to becareful and learn from our fellow Ganian counterpart, they have displayed high level
as humanbeing and show love to themselves. We should better learn and do the right thing now or else the
consequences maybe gravious.

It is only God that gives and take power, as He is the giver and taker of life. What the FEC and the National assem
bly are doing is abject display of insesitivity to national issue and selfish intrest at the expence of the nation.
our rulers have displayed that they are ruling without a consience and without their own minds. Even if it is their

Our politicians pls repent and do what is right in the sight of God. Ihope all these are for selfish interest . Also our Military officers should forget politics for the interest of the poor masses . We are already tired of their interfreance into politics. We have to only stand in peace adn development. And believe in God`s redemption.

i think the unity of our dear country supersedes any individual interest.our president made a mistake of not handing over to his Deputy on acting capacity but i do not think he did that intentionally. He never thaught that his sickness will last uptill now,of course he is not God. I strongly believe that our president is a democrat, and therefore needs our prayers in this trying moments. The situation has showcased in a pronounced mannner the lapses in the 1999 constitution and therefore requires urgent amendment in the area of electrol reforms, balancing of the geo political zone with an additional state in the south east, and authomatic taking over on acting capacity of deputies in the envent of the absence of the presidents and Governors without waiting for a letter from the incumbent to aviode vacuum in leadership.

Is Nigeria truly a nation? Are we one people with common aspirations? Is there still any doubt why Nigeria remains a dysfunctional state despite her huge potentials? It is really sad to note with a deep sense of objectivity that what is termed Nigeria remains a collection of strange bed fellows forced into a sort of cohabitation against their free will. Otherwise tell me why this repulsive mistrust amongst the nations in space called Nigeria. At 50 I feel saddened with the hopelessness of our economic and technological progress which I had imagined 30 years ago (as a science and technology development activist) would have measured well with that of India, Brazil, Malaysia and other emerging economies.
It is unthinkable that a section of the country will loose sleep perpetually for the simple fact that someone from another section of the same country would takeover power even momentarily in the absence of the incumbent notwithstanding that the constitution is explicit enough about this. So what will happen in the case of a president dying without notice e.g. from heart attack? Ignore the constitution? Lawyer activists head to court? Parochial judges giving verdicts contrary to the constitution? PDP BOT or whatever it's called holding a meeting for a solution outside the constitution? On what basis should Nigeria be called a country? Anarchy is sure to visit Nigeria, the magnitude who can tell?

If there's any room left in "Hell", Lord, let it be permanently reserved for the like of
Babagida, Obasanjo, Yaradua for their contributions in looting the peoples' wealth. For
Nigerian presidents to leave home for treatment in other countries that may not even be
as wealthy as Nigeria is a "CURSE" from the devine.
What is a wealth stolen from the people? It's a terrible burden that's a curse, not a blessing.
No doubt, with their unethical behavior, the Nigerian so called rulers have not only brought shame to the black race, also have validated the claims that black race can't govern themselves with integrity. Eventually all these people will become very good portions for
vultures and flies.

Fellow Nigerians, What is the noise about this matter of transfer of power from the President to his Vice. Why are people so wicked and heartless to others. The President is a human being like any other person. If the President is sick , it is the duty of Nigerian Nation to take care of him till he gets well or otherwise (God forbid bad thing). Let us stop compounding our problems in the name of politics. Yoruba adage says "Bi Oba kan ko ku, A kii je omiran = If a king is not dead you dont crown another. Just pray for the President to recover and pending his return, The vice President can be doing his own duty assigned to him by the constitution or what the president ask him to do in his (President) absence. Dont cause confussion amongst them.
The Vice President is Loyal to the President and I commend him and respect him.Dont tarnish his reputation and dont destroy the southerner that is loyal to his boss.
God is in control. I wish the President quick recovery and safe return to Nigeria

The sorrows of Satan has been casted on Yar'Adua's regime. He was sick from the begining and still sick today
which many doubt. The man is "full of bellonei". How could he still in Saudia Arabia while the same BBC reported
that a reliable officer in the same Saudi hospital stated that Yar'Adua left the hospital on December 2, 2009. Was
Yar'Adua discharged and re-admitted in the same hospital to have made a statement to the BBC on Jan, 12th
2010 ?

Asuming that Yar'Adua spoke to BBC as alleged, why could he not invest the power of temporary governance to the VP Jonathan in the same manner ? BBC and the Nigerian Senate, Nigerian House of Assembly and any Nigerian medium, which should by virtue of nationalism be close to Yar'Adua ? Nigeria and Britain, whom does Yar'Adua owe allegiance ? Why can't the Senate, House of Assembly and other politicians and in particular the
Nigerian Judiciary show greater allegiance to the Constitution than the President ? The Office of the Presidency
is a temporary post compared with the Constitution, why is there no respect in protecting the Constitution than
in protecting the president as demonstrated by AGF Aondoakaa ? Is our system badly taintaited all round ?

For the purpose of the lingering argument and based on the verdict of Justice Dan Abutu, does the VP Jonathan
equal and in the same footing with every other cabinet minister ? Can VP Jonathan legally able to re-assign,
discipline, dismiss or appoint any cabinet minister in comparisn with the power equilateral with the President ?
Based on the verdict of Justice Dan Abutu, is it fair to say that while Jonathan acts as the president, that the
office of the vice president is vacant or alternatively, while acting as the Vice President, that the office of the
President is still vacant as long as Yar'Adua is not sitting in Nigeria ? Conversely, as quoted by the AGF that the
President can rule Nigeria from anywhere irrespective of duration . Was this idea accetable International mpre
so when "rulers" abdicate their throwns and implicitly in the case of Yar'Adua, without normal relinquishment of
governance, that Yar'Adua could even be dead and still govern from his grave ? Is Nigerian presidency a kind
of religious "cult" that people must worhship even when the appointed leader dies ? What does our Constitution
say about leadership aspirant of the Presidency and why are we deviating from it, fear of the truth, fear of a
person, fear of position attatched, or fear of changes that might arise ? When would it end and what is the acute
impact of the present impasse where International authorities could not communicate with us simply because
we have no leadership ?

Is Nigeria a bunch of "wacky" loose nuts and are confuseed and ought to be manipulated at ease or there are
a clique of lunatics like the Aso Rock Mafias faning political issues to a boiling point to stigmatize one tribal,
ethnic or religious groups and slaughter them with Militar and police power ? What is the motive of all the
steaming dangers ? Are we prone to violence, more killings, more blood guttering, more crises ?

What a shame! Nigeria is the only country in the world where a few people the feel it is their birth right to (mis) rule, loot and bankrupt the economy, with a careless abandon, while our greatest resource, our youths, are confined to selling "Lakasera" on the roadside. It is more of a shame that we keep turning the other ear, even when there are no more ears to turn. When will this all end?

The ruling cabal and feudal lords in the North are truly aghast why so much dust and din are being raised about Mr. President's absence on sick leave without a formal hand-over of instrument of presidential powers. They are persuaded that we should be satisfied with the VP acting without the requisite powers. Their plan is on course that the VP does not have to sign any documents committing their man, YAD, to anything they did not bargain for. Many of us are livid with anger because we will not pause to consider the political configuration of our country : the North is staking a claim to their 8 years of presidency - no shaking. The earth make quake. The heavens may fall. Theirs is the presidency for 8 years. And. GJ must not smell, talk less of tasting, the powers of the president. They are not only in government. They are in power - the govt, the economy, the army, police, et al. What is the way out? Revolution? Forget it. We would only be trading one set of taskmasters for another - perhaps, more brutal, more inhuman. The history of revolutions in the world bears eloquent testimony to this assertion. Believe it. Deliverance will surely come. Sooooooon. But while we are waiting, we can all work toward "opening up the mind" of our people in the North. Formal and informal education is it. Not the lip service the cabal and their agent are paying to education. But getting us to see that religion and education are NOT diametrically opposed. That is the key to the overthrow of the chains of oppression in the life of our people - in the North and south.

to govern a country with integrity is the answer to the economic problems of
Nigeria, a nation saturated with skilled people. The idea may sound stupid to the shameless thieves known as leaders; These rogue leaders are stupid and not the idea. As for me,
well, I've turned in my Nigerian membership card long ago to join the

Yaradua should not be totally blamed. To me Yaradua would have resigned if allowed. But the northern cabals who were afraid of loosing power to other parts of the country could not allow that to happen. They believed that once Mr president resigned, the probability that the next president will be from the north is 0.
So they advised Yaradua to remained in power even if his condition is critical until next year when there will be another election. This is to make sure that they are still in control of everything.
Everybody is now aware that there is nothing like one Nigeria. All these Saga has really opened everybody's eye.
My warning is that the impending war will be hell.

All beings on earth will pass through what God has destined for them. This statement is often negleted, ignored and power brokers go about planning bad for the country if the policy does not favour them. The President I know is the type of person that is not after accumulating wealth nor the type that would want to campaign for the third term. Those around him have ulterior motives and have been insisting that he rules though incapable because of ill-health. There is 'CONFUSSION VIRUS' all over the place because some people are refuising to allow the president have his sound sleep. They have murdered sleep and sleep they shall sleep no more. Almighty God will surely pass his judgement on all those that are destroying this country.

Imagin!!!!,Some delegates left the shores of this country yesterday to Visit our ailing President in Saudi and Skillfully enough, the same Mr President was smuggled into the country this morning with lots of drama at the Airport coupled with airtight security to Aso villa.
The security is just to avoid people especially the press -men from seeing him, meaning that his condition is still very critical.
What exactly were they hiding??????????????????????????????????????????
The Northern cabal may not like some decisions so far taken by V.P so they decided to bring Yaradua back inorder to have room to be detecting to Goodluck?(V.P) on behalf of Mr president.
As far as i'm concerned Umaru Musa did not know where he is now let alone thinking of Nigeria.
No instruction should be taken by V.P to be from Mr president.
Finally,Yaradua's wife is very stupid. She did not love her husband.
Why will she allow all these cabals to be manipulating/denting his husbands name??
May be they have confused her with money.Who knows what was happening b/w her and those cabals since Mr president was away.Trust no women.

May I kindly put it to all Nigerians that we should not make fool of ourselves in matters of national interest.
It is very clear that when the head is sick, the whole body suffers. Nigeria as a nation needed someone with
sound health to look into her affairs. We all know that Mr. President cannot perform with that his health condition.
He should be alowed to have a rest than to compound his health problems with leadership troubles.

I AND ONLY I DO MAKE HASTE TO TELL YOU THAT GOD CAN ONLY ANSWER THOSE WHO CALL ON HIM WITH CLEAN HEARTS. STOP SAYING GOD THIS AND GOD THAT WHEN YOUR HANDS ARE FILLED WITH FILTH. FROM THE OUTSET WE'VE BEEN CALLING UNTO GOD AND THINGS REMAIN THE WAY THEY ARE AND YOU SIT BEHIND YOUR SYSTEM SAYING GOD. PLEASE, I AM NOT IGNORANT OF THE SUPREMACY AND EFFICACY OF GOD, NOT AT ALL. ALL AM SAYING IS GOD HAS CREATED US ALL, MADE HIS WILL KNOWN, SHOWN US THE PATH TO LIFE AND TO DEATH, BUT NIGERIA VIA HER LEADERS HAS CHOSEN THAT OF DEATH. SO LET'S KEEP GOD OUT OF THIS. I TELL PEOPLE THAT IF WE DO 50% OF WHAT IS EXPECTED OF US, INCLUDING MYSELF, WE SHALL HAVE LESS PRAYER REQUESTS. THE NIGERIA PROBLEM IS SQUARELY A FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP AND UNTIL WE VOTE IN A LEGITIMATE LEADER, WE ARE GOING NOWHERE. I BELIEVE THAT DIVIDING THIS COUNTRY THAT HAS REFUTED ALL POLITICAL IDEAS (IF AT ALL THERE HAS BEEN ANY IDEOLOGY.OF COURSE THE WORKABILITY OF IDEOLOGY DEPENDS GREATLY ON THE ACTORS) WILL BE THE BEST. ITS NO MORE TIME FOR PRAYERS BUT TIME TO TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORN. LET ME SUGGEST RIGHT HERE THAT NIGERIA SHOULD PLEASE ADOPT A SIMILAR TYPE OF ELECTIONEERING ATMOSPHERE AS WITNESSED IN ANAMBRA STATE COME 2011. IT HAS TO BE CONDUCTED ON DIFFERENT DAYS IN THE SIX GEO-POLITICAL ZONES WITH ALL THE SECURITY OUTFIT IN THE COUNTRY DIPLOID IN ANY ONE CONDUCTING AND OTHER ZONES NOT CONDUCTING ALLOWED TO GO AND WITNESS/OBSERVE ANY ZONE CONDUCTING. THIS IS 'COS I BELIEVE THAT GIVEN THE NUMBER OF SECURITY OUTFIT AND NEUTRAL PEOPLE WHO CAME TO WITNESS ANAMBRA STATE ELECTION, THERE WAS NOWAY IT COULD HAD BEEN RIGGED. LET A SIMILAR THING HAPPEN IN 2011, IN THE DIFFERENT GEO-POLITICAL ZONES. SMALL, SMALL, LETS SEE IF CAN CATCH THE MONKEY.

BUT I MUST BLOW THE TRUMPET SO SO LOUD. NIGERIA MUST BE READY FOR SERIOUS BLOODSHED OR REMAIN THE WAY IT IS OR EVEN WORST. THIS POLITICIANS YOU SEE WILL CONTINUE TO DEGENERATE INTO MORE DANGEROUS MONSTERS, SO EXPECT NO MAGIC. REMEMBER THE CORRUPTION OF THE FIRST AND SECOND REPUBLIC WHICH THEY CLAIM LED TO MILITARY INTERVENTION NEVER GOT TO THIS EXTENT.

9JA GUYS, SHINE UNA AI WELLA. I GO HAPPEN TOO SOON THAN XPECTED.
HE WHO HAS EAR, LET HIM HEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I BELIEVE GOD IS IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING THAT PERTAINS TO NIGERIANS, WE MUST NOT TAKE LAW INTO OUR HANDS. FROM MY BIBLE IT IS STATED THAT ALL AUTHORITIES ARE ESTABLISHED BY GOD, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE HAS EXEMPTED HIMSELF FROM THE AFFAIRS OF PEOPLE OR REDUCES HIS THEOCRACY. EVERY LEADER WETHER PRESIDENT OR KING IS GOD'S SERVANT, THEREFORE, I CHALLENGE ALL NIGERIAS TO CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THE RECOVERY OUR BELOVED PRESIDENT EVEN AS DR. GOODLUCK CONTINUES TO SERVE THIS GREAT NATION AS THE ACTING PRESIDENT.

A friend sent me a link of Darryl Hammond speaking in Houston. It’s some out of the box thinking. I think He had some fantastic ideas on how to integrate your companies risk management into condition based monitoring.
Does anyone know if he still works for Alyeska pipeline or is he working for OSisoft? Any way, if anyone knows if he is available for consulting or project managment send me an email.
