By Valentine Obienyem

Governor Peter Obi says Africa has the potentials to drive the future global economy. Governor Obi was speaking in a dinner organized for a delegation of Anambra State Associations in the United States of America who are on Integrated Mission in the State. He noted that Africa has abundant untapped resources locked up in various parts of the continent that will provide solution to future global challenges.

Governor Obi said that through multi-sectoral development strategy the state was on course to achieve the MDGs as it was using effective data bank to pursue programmes that impacted directly on the lives of the people which had been attested to by International Donor Agencies and Development partners.

He recalled that his administration is the first government to initiate and sustain collaboration with all associations of the State across the world as part measures to encourage them to contribute in the collective efforts to rebuild the state.

The President of the Association, Dr. Allison Anadi expressed satisfaction that through the collaboration with the State Government, they have successfully achieved an integrated mission that include medical, Education, women and children, youth empowerment, research and development as well as Economic empowerment and disclosed that on twenty-fifth of this month, they will embark on tour of projects executed by the present administration as a follow up to similar tour they conducted in 2009 during which they visited one hundred and seventeen projects completed by Governor Obi’s government. Dr. Anadi assured that the Association will sustain its partnership with the State government to elevate the State to a pride of place, noting that no administration has given such a support to any mission in any state.

A member of the mission and Dentist from Haiti Dr. Daniel Duroseau said he attended to two hundred and eighty one patients during the exercise and thanked the Association for giving him the opportunity to be part of the success story of the State. Dr. Duroseau assured that he was ready to participate in the next mission and would equally attract other volunteers.

Another member of the Association Chief Tony Idigo said unlike past administrations, Governor Obi had extended massive infrastructural development to all parts of the State including the rural areas, not that his achievements would remain a challenge to future governments.

hitlerActions speaks more than words. This is a good example and one only wish it will bring an happy end. If the governor can turn back on corruption more will be achieved, but one needs a strong will, instead of the winner takes all mentality of most Governors. To the Reporter: this is a good story , bette than the sound of war and terrorism or even the country trying to become Pakistan in the name of boko- haram or shit as thy call themselves.
