*Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Is Dead

By ( Release From Ojukwu's Family )

After a protracted and brave fight against stroke, the People’s General, Ikemba Nnewi, Dikedioranma Ndigbo, Odenigbo Ngw, Ezeigbo Gburugburu, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu died in the early hours of today in London.

We thank all those that showed concern in our period of difficulties, starting from the President of Country, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR. We thank in a special way the Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi who went above and beyond the call to duty to look after him. Besides paying the hospital bills, he visited London on monthly basis to see him. He was there yesterday and only came back this morning to receive the news, whereupon he entered the next available flight back to London. He even had to fly Economy since other classes were fully booked. We thank him for the sacrifices.

We thank all Nigerians for their solidarity, especially those that continued to pray for him. May you continue to pray for the repose of his soul.

Further details shall be made available.

Jerome NwoguGeneral Odumegwu Ojukwu, nwoke mara mma another savior!!!I sincerely cry for you beloved General.I did love , respect and honor what was you. If you did give the order again, I would pick up arm to defend what the Igbos stand for--right to life and liberty.Who could do it better: your brothers and sisters were slaughtered like cows up North. The headless bodies and pregnant women who were ripped open and the the babies beheaded were sent to you in an open wagon. With tears in your eyes( I saw it), you demanded fairness but noble men and women looked the other way. With anger in heart, young men and women stood behind you in an enclave called BIAFRA.We will do it again if we are provoked to that level. With tears in my eyes, I stand to salute you the last time. ADIEU my gallant General. power! power!! power!!!.

Comment from: Prince Afam Nwobodo Ogowa [Visitor]
Prince Afam Nwobodo OgowaI`m fully taken aback by the death of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu and heartily commiserate with the entire family over the death of its beloved Hero, I urge the family and the entire Igbo Race to take heart and rededicate their lives in moving the numerous legacies the deceased left behind"...Whichever way we look at it, death is a mystery. It has no shape or color. It does not subscribe to any religious faith. It does not associate itself with any ethnic group. Death is undetectable. It does not carry physical weapons to defend itself and it does not need the protection of official bodyguards. The reason is simple: death has sufficient lethal power to protect itself and to overwhelm humanity.

For many years, many people have posed the question: is death the end of life or the beginning of life in another form? No one knows for sure, not even those who claim to have the supernatural power to converse with their creator. It is this unresolved question, this inability to define and understand death that continues to challenge our knowledge of life and the mysteries that underpin death.

Death strikes when we least expect it. It comes in various forms. The death of a man or woman is no evidence of the person's state of health or welfare. Death assaults those who are sick and those who are well. Death is not an ailment that can be treated with medicament. The most mysterious element of death is that there is no solution to it. It is no respecter of anyone's social status or criminal record. Because death is shrouded in mystery, it is also treated with some degree of reverence or trepidation in some cultures. For these reasons, death is a perfect embodiment of an oxymoron.

In some cultures, when death strikes, people weep and grind their teeth in pain because death signifies finality - the end of life. People often say that dead men or women can't talk or walk or eat. They cannot participate in normal human activities. However, in some cultures, when respected elders and community leaders die, people dance to mock death and to celebrate the dead persons' accomplishments. Why do people in some cultures grieve when someone dies while people in other cultures celebrate the death of another person? The answer lies partly in cultural interpretations of death and the philosophy that defines human life.
Arguably, there are people whose actions tend to suggest they have the power to foresee the imminence of their own death. Death is be it all and end it all..Adieu my iconic Hero, the People’s General, Ezeigbo Gburugburu, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu you died proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly...R.I.P the pride of Igbo Race !!!

simeon ihekweremeGeneral ojukwu being in my view the sole spiritual king of ndiigbo is never dead.we are in a spiritual world and ojukwu is never dead,he has only transcended, iam right now preoccupied with the thought of who,s gonna replace him which is paining me that eventually none,i predict a revolution in the long future to liberate the igbo people and the person who will initiate that and lead it to success is the only one that ,s gonna replace him.Biabran nation had it succeded no doubt would have been one of the greatest nation on earth today because of the potential of the igbo people being the descendants of the jewish people. He did everything a man could have done but was sabotaged, lessons have been learnt, mistakes corrected.so who,s gonna be the god,s chosen to lead the igbo people successfuly like moses to the promised land is now the guestion.

Comment from: Ukonu [Visitor]
UkonuForgive my naivity if I say that I thought that Ojukwu the peoples General will defy death anytime. My naivity was as a result of my firsthand experience and witness of the bravery General Ojukwu displayed at the warfront during the Biafran war.

As a former Biafran soldier at the warfront I saw Ojukwu come to the frontline walking tall while firing was going on then I said in my mind that he (Ojukwu) was using some talisman protecting him because I never saw any man walking tall while heavy firing was going on.

Anyday Ojukwu visited the warfront meant that the particular sector must have been experiencing some difficulties. If he was there, there was no hiding place for anybody that day from the Divisional Commander to the Recruit and surely we recovered any ground lost and even gain new grounds. That was the leader that led from the front.

My firsthand experience of him as a fighter, a leader, an orator, a gentleman and officer, a motivator, a beacon of hope and above all a brother that stood by what he believed and never waivered shall live with me forever.

Now I believe that death is real. As for the Igbos, we shall be more united than divided in his death and the demand for a sovereign state of Biafra will be immortalised along with Ojukwu's name. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace, the everlasting Head of State of Biafra. Adieu! Adieu!! Adieu!!!

Prince Afam Nwobodo OgowaIdiotic Kasim or whatever you called yourself, My observation of you is embarrassing. I am not going to be diplomatic with words; I`m cutting out the frills, and cutting to the chase. People should be skeptical. That`s the cautionary necessity to keep people from making dumb mistakes. Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets. Shock is an understatement to how I felt, after reading your reckless thoughts, careless statements, unrealistic gestures and senseless moves which mirrors your unmitigated stupidity and advanced level of ignorance. Its imperative to reactivate your idiotic and defective mind that his names ( Dim, Chukwuemeka, Ikemba, Dikedioranma Ndigbo,Odenigbo,Ezeigbo Gburugburu) are titles. It is not meant for every ``non compos mantis. It`s a mark and seal of bravery, intelligence and wisdom not of buffoonery like you.
I am not sure you rightly evaluate Col.Ojukwu`s significance to his people and Nigeria at large. It is spiteful of you. Dim Ojukwu is a man with a large heart who approach odds with unprecedented confidence, his brave approach to issues earned him the respect and admiration of his people and contemporaries. I know a racist like you will come back barking like a dog. Most often people like you are the scum of the society. I had expected you to display a hybrid of strong character that is needed for group survivability like, understanding, intelligence, will-power and compassion that is need for group survivability and upward movement of the Nation.

daniel uche - usai write through tears, if any incoherence is spotted in my write up,forgive me,and this is because of the non sudden passing away of a little god whom i did not know personally, but his passing rocked every cell of my being all bizillion of them.

life is what you do while waiting to die Donald Trump an american billionaire was spotted to be saying answering questions from reporters.

yes, this gone great of the greatest named CHUKWUEMEKA ODIMEGWU OJUKWU lived life, did miracles, and was very humble. just his contribution to humanity was not exactly encircled in religiosity, nonetheless there were physical, proven miracles. so inspite of all the achievements the great warrior achieved, i believe he must have attained sainthood. may i address the great departed one as a saint.

how do the generality of indigbo replenish a loss like this? should we now cower up on the premise that the great god knows the best and he took the general from us? as we ponder a loss of this dimension, we can only introduce martin kingism, a postulate proposed by the king's dream of the last century, in which the entire world is still trying to live by the creeds of the dreams of the also great man (martin luther king) of america. saint ojukwu had a dream for us all also, and saint ojukwu to me still lives. please excuse me, because this is how i feel now)

right now, i do not know nor believe that this great warrior is gone, but when reality becomes apparent to me, i will then say may his soul rest in peace. but untill then my fellow indigbo, saint ojukwu still lives

Comment from: Chief Diggs Akobo [Visitor]
Chief Diggs AkoboChief Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, the fine Nigerian Army Officer, great Commander and lover of truth for life is indeed a great loss to Nigeria particularly men and women enchanting for true democratic Nigeria he changed its outlook. His wisdom, courage and stand on truth, honor and human dignity are lessens that Nigeria as a nation striving for survival must ever take into consideration to weather its life to success. His stand, indeed gave room to the breaking of the Eastern region into Rivers and Cross River and East Central States and in extension other states in Nigeria. The death of Dim Ojukwu will en-kindled the heart of Nigeria to see the need and continuous call for a modern Order for the people of Nigeria. We must put right those things that propelled Ojukwu to declare for separation; marginalization of minorities in Nigeria; and over-looking the extincting ecology of the Niger delta oil-producing communities. Chief Ojukwu stands a colossus any day before us. May the Lord receive his soul.

You are a great Hero to me
Your loved and sacrificed your life for our freedom
Oh,the Moses of our time is gone
But God is still with us
and our promised land we must reach
God will surely send our Joshua for this
So,wipe away your tears oh my people
let those who knows your values cry no more
Biafran war song we must sing again
not with weapons of war
but with weapons of praise and appreciation to God
when we posses our PROMISED LAND.
As Jehovah lives,it is done.Amen.
