The Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency(NAMA), Engineer Mazi Nnamdi Udoh was on Tuesday, 29th November, 2011 enlisted in the honours roll of the distinguished members of the Nigeria Society of Engineers(NSE), Ikeja, Lagos branch.
Honoured alongside the NAMA boss at the well attended ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja is the current Commissioner of Agriculture, Ondo State, Engineer Ademola Olorunfemi. In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Ikeja Chapter of NSE, Engineer Bola Bido said among others that "It is a day of joy, because from among us, came engineers that have been found worthy of State and National Service." He explained that the branch decided to honour "these great men now, in their lifetime and not after they passed on. In the light of this recognition, the two recipients of these Awards must continue the business of bringing the needed changes into the office they now occupied and imparting the life of young generations of engineers by their exemplary performance".
Engineer Bido said as ambassadors of the group, members look forward to the two awardees to create more opportunities for engineers to assume political positions,adding that "as evident, we recognised, today, your contributions to the engineering profession and the opportunities you have created for young engineers within your sphere of influence".
Engineer Udoh, who was the immediate past Director of Safety Electronics and Engineering Services in NAMA holds a Master of Science(M.Sc) in Air Safety from the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, City University, London among several other academic and professional certificates prior to his recent appointment by the Federal Government as the Managing Director of NAMA three months ago.
