NUJ Scores Gov Obi high In Infrastructural Development

The Nigerian Union of Journalists has score Governor Peter Obi’s administration high in infrastructural development. Delegates to the National Executive Council meeting of the Union organized in their honour at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia after a tour of some projects executed by the present administration.

The National President of the Union, Mallam Mohammed Garba Commended the various initiatives of the Governor to improve the life of the people and said they were impressed with the high quality of work done on various project. He noted that focus and committed leaders like Governor Obi has revived hope for the country.

The Chairman Lagos State Council of the Union, Mr. Deji elumoye said most projects visited including the Odor bridge was of international standard. Also speaking another delegate, Mr. Mathias Omale observed that the Governor is reconstructing the State and has giving human face to governance. ( Continues below….. )

Responding Governor Obi charged the journalists to spear-head a new national consciousness that will encourage constructive criticism and discourage praise singing to promote good governance. He said those elected to public offices should live exemplary life as irresponsibilities of leaders were adversely affecting the image of the country.

He lamented that indiscriminate award of honours and degree is destroying the basic values of the society.
