*FAAN, NAMA, Others To Remit 25% Gross Revenue to Federation Account

President Goodluck Jonathan has directed all government agencies in the aviation industry and others in various sectors of the nation's economy to hence forth remit 25% of their gross income into the Fedration Account. To this end, a monitoring committee team made up of officials from the office of the Accountant General of the Federation and the Budget Office is being set up to visit all relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies with a view to determine and collect all revenues due to the Federal Government. This development was disclosed by the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla while presenting a paper titled:'' Revenue Management,Transparency and National Development'' at this year's Man of the Year award held at the Yar' Ardua Center in Abuja.It was organised by Nigeria News Direct. Mr Otunla who also bagged-Transparent CEO of Distinction-award also noted that there was urgent need for the review of all laws governing establishments to bring them in conformity with the relevant sections of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He remarked that corruption was indeed the major problems of revenue generation, adding that "the matter is beyond punishment of offenders, Government should look for ways of inculcating moral values into the citizens as well as the love for our country".
