Governor Peter Obi has received another award as the ‘Good Financial Planning Governor of our Time”, from the Enugu Anglican Diocese. The Award was presented to the Governor at a service to mark the end of the first session of the fifteenth Synod of the Diocese at All Saints Church, GRA Enugu.

Presenting the Award, the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma said the Governor had continued to demonstrate prudence, transparency and accountability in using public resources for the collective welfare of all.

Bishop Chukwuma who recalled that the Governor championed the return of schools to churches, explained that while the church remains firm in criticizing the short comings and excesses of those in position of authority, there is equally need to encourage leaders who are doing well. Receiving the Award, Governor Obi thanked them for the honor and commended their choice of awardees who he described as those who have distinguished themselves in service to the people.

He appealed to the church to continue to pray for the country and its leaders to combat the various challenges including problem of insecurity and prevailing global financial crisis, noting that Nigeria is presently burdened with high domestic debt spent on consumption instead of production.

The governor called on leaders to promote exemplary conduct to restore decency in governance, while urging the people not to encourage impunity in service. ( Continues below..... )

In a sermon earlier, the Anglican Bishop of New Bussa Diocese in Niger State, Rt. Rev. Israel Amoo enjoined Christians to be contented with God’s will for them as God is the only source of blessing and has the final say in human affairs

In his reaction later, the transition committee Chairman, Aguata Local Government council, Chief Titus Anigbogu said the honor is well deserved and a testimony of Governor Obi’s selfless services and commitment in transforming all sectors.

Chukwuma NnebochaGov Obi has done very well and has continued to put all the evil men that previously made development an impossible feat in Anambra to big shame.
I fervently Pray that Anambra gets another honest and visionary governor who isn't afraid of the so called godfathers of Anambra.
