*Edo 2012 Election: Princewill Congratulates Oshiomhole, Others

By Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze

Prince Tonye Princewill, a PDP Chieftain and the Leader of Princewill Political Associates (PPA) expressed his happiness and joy over the peaceful and successful conduct of the Edo State 2012 Gubernatorial election. According to him, “With the declaration by INEC of the victory of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as the Governor- Elect of Edo State under a very tensed atmosphere characterized by the massive deployment of soldiers & security agents that practically took over the State; a victory secured under this situation is worth celebrating by every true democrat. It simply demonstrates that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria”. The Prince went further to commend and congratulate President Jonathan Goodluck for living up to his promise to allow the votes, the will and the verdict of the people of Edo State to prevail not minding that our party the PDP was one of the parties that contested in the election and was even among the firsts to congratulate the Comrade Governor for a well-deserved victory over our party. This act is only attributable to statesmen! ( Continues below….. )

With Governor Oshiomhole polling over 73% of the votes cast against the PDP’s Candidate who polled 23% of the total vote cast simply demonstrates that our people have woken up to the reality that only outstanding performance by candidates in any election should be the yardstick for re-election and not necessarily the party one belongs. Political parties are enjoined in this regard to allow popular candidates with proven integrity, unblemished track record and capable of meeting the yearning and aspirations of the electorates be the party flag bearers in elections they wish to win.

This victory has clearly demonstrated the implicit confidence the people of Edo State repose on the Comrade Governor, “I plead with him not to disappoint the people but should ruthlessly tackle the myriad of problems confronting the people. As a welfarist, Adams Oshiomole has a reputation for embarking on people’s orientated projects that has brought succor to the people of Edo State and urged him not to relent in embarking on more developmental projects that will take the State to higher glory as history will always be there to judge him, the Prince remarked.

The Prince equally commended Prof Jega, the INEC Boss, for a commendable feat achieved in this regard not minding very obvious embarrassing situations in most of the polling stations as some voters could not find their names on the voters register. He advised Prof Jega and his team to use the achievements and short comings recorded in the Edo State Governorship elections to perfect their acts for future elections especially in the area of logistics. OsaWhat a legacy that our President, wants to leave for our commimng generation. A legacy of arrant disregard to the will of the people, and the principle you were against as an ordinary citizen. The nation rejoiced and felt fortunate, for once in her history, to have a real accademia as her president. The people prayed and fasted when the leadership was in limbo and much rejoicing when the crown was finally passed to President Jonathan. The Nation watched as he bowed his head to pay homage to God for guardiance. Now into his third year in office with no visible change in the life of Nigerians, one is left to wonder if the god he prayed to, on that day, was really our Heavenly Father. He bestowed wisdom on Solomon, and the nation of Istrael prosper under his leadership. President Jonathan was overwhelmly elected across party line because of the failure of past leadership offered by the Northerners. What a calculated mistake this time around, I bet either of the other two candidates would have, by now, reign on corruption and created some jobs with real contracts. Since becoming president, he has not only become insensitive to the need of the nation, he is now the husband of a perm. sec. and first lady of Nigeria and Africa. Is this the glamour that will cure this mass hunger and unemployment that the nation faces? No word not yet spoken, can expresss the outrage and insensitivity being displayed by this family at the helm. The living condition of Nierians and the suffering they have to endure persist, and shuttle first ladies on Nigeria air force jet to crown our new first lady of Africa. This is not what Nigerians voted for, they thought a saviour has finally been born, when he declared our sufferings was coming to an end on innauguration day. Instead we have elected the husband of a perm sec and first lady of Africa. Nigerian first lady has become too small an honour, she wanted more. Where will all this stop? ACN Governors have delivered what will make life a little easier in their state, like hospitals, good road, renovated schools, and other essential infrastructure and they are being overwhelmingly re elected. AIG Olusegun said Nigeria at 52 is not RIPE for a state police. Why would she, when a state police would serve as check and balance to his authority. Nothing else can check on these insecurity better than a state police. NPF is a failure and credit to the present IG for removing their disgracful road blocks that amounted to nothing other than arm robbery. Non parformance, the PDP is sure of re election the Obasanjo style. Next stop, the first lady of the WHOLE world. Congratulation md Perm. sec, First lady of Nigeria and Africa. If Prince Princewell were elected president, no title will left for your wife, may be First lady of the planet. Good luck
